The softener is using too much salt

There are a couple of things that can cause the unit to use too much salt.

 

  1. The gallons are set too low for your homes needs
  2. The hours override to set to a low frequency 
  3. Your home naturally uses a significant amount of water, sending the unit into frequent regenerations 

 

To Check your Recommended Amount of Gallons:

 

Use our gallon calculator tool here to ensure your gallons are not set too low.

 

To Check the Hours Override:

 

Enter the settings and skip up to Set 4 t-h.

 

The default is 02 h-OFF. 

 

If there is something programmed in place of the OFF such as 024, 048, 072 and your home does not need this frequency, use the CURVED arrow to shift from the flashing 02 to h- and use the DOWN arrow to change this to OFF.
