I found resin beads in the drain line

If you experience resin in the drain line, check the following to troubleshoot:

Water Pressure

The maximum allowable inlet water pressure from your home into the softener is 125psi. If the system is running at a high pressure consistently, then this could result in resin being forced through the upper basket and into the drain line. If this is the case, then installing a pressure-reducing valve (PRV) would be advised.

*If daytime pressure is over 80psi, nighttime pressure may increase and exceed the maximum allowed water pressure.

Upper Basket Inspection

If the upper basket is damaged or has not been installed properly, then this could potentially allow resin through the drain connection

-Set the system into bypass

-Unplug the control head from the top connection

-There are a total of 4 brackets around the bypass. Remove the 2 brackets closest to the control head.

-Pull the tank away from the bypass, disconnecting the meter from the bypass

*There may be water inside that connection so you may want to place a towel over the bypass

-Twist the control head off of the resin tank.

-Inspect the upper basket for any damages and proper installation to the control head.

The next thing you need to do is measure the distance from the top lip of the tank down to the top of the bed of the resin. Please send us a photo of that measurement in inches so that we can verify how much resin you are missing to our Customer Support team at support@aquasureusa.com.
