If you are experiencing low water pressure, reduced flow, or suspect your system is not performing properly, follow the steps below to identify the issue. Many common concerns can be resolved with basic checks and routine maintenance.
Low Water Pressure
If you notice reduced water pressure or lower flow throughout the home, the issue may be related to sediment buildup or a restricted pre-filter cartridge.
If your system includes a pre-filter:
- Temporarily remove the pre-filter cartridge.
- Return the system to service.
- Monitor the water pressure after the cartridge has been removed.
After testing the system without the cartridge:
- If water pressure improves, the cartridge is likely clogged and should be replaced before continuing regular use.
- If water pressure does not improve, contact Aquasure Support for further assistance.
Monitoring filter conditions regularly can help prevent unexpected pressure loss.
Backwash Not Performed Regularly
If the system has not been backwashed within the recommended 7–10 day interval, contaminants may accumulate inside the tank.
Perform a full cleaning cycle:
- Backwash for 15 minutes
- Fast Rinse for 10 minutes
After completing the 25-minute cycle, return the valve to Filter mode and monitor system performance. Regular backwashing helps maintain proper media expansion and contaminant removal.
Water Still Has Chlorine or Odor
If chlorine taste or odor returns, the filtration media may be reaching the end of its lifespan.
Under normal conditions, Fortitude Pro media lasts approximately 3–5 years. Heavy chlorine levels or inconsistent maintenance may shorten that timeframe.
If performance does not improve after backwashing, media replacement may be necessary.
Water Draining Improperly During Backwash
During backwash and rinse cycles, water should flow freely to the drain line.
If water does not appear to drain properly:
- Confirm the drain line is not kinked or blocked
- Ensure the drain outlet can handle the required flow rate
- Verify the valve is fully turned to the correct position
Improper drainage can prevent effective cleaning of the media and reduce system efficiency.
