If you notice water leaking from your Quantum Series UV system, shut down the system before inspecting it. Leaks may be related to O-ring seals, quartz sleeve positioning, gland nuts, chamber caps, or inlet and outlet plumbing connections.
Leaks should be addressed immediately to help prevent damage to the system or surrounding area.
Safety Steps Before Inspection
Before inspecting the system, it is important to shut it down safely.
Take the following steps:
- Disconnect power to the UV system
- Shut off the incoming water supply
- Place a bucket under the unit to catch any remaining water
These steps help prevent electrical hazards and contain water during inspection.
Check Common Leak Points
Leaks commonly occur around the chamber caps, quartz sleeve seals, O-rings, or plumbing connections. Inspect these areas carefully.
Check for the following:
- Misaligned or improperly seated quartz sleeve
- Damaged, worn, twisted, or missing O-rings
- Loose gland nuts or chamber caps
- Improperly placed washers or seals
- Inadequate inlet or outlet thread connections
- Moisture caused by condensation on the UV chamber
Hand-tighten connections where appropriate. Do not overtighten, as this may damage the quartz sleeve or other components.
If the Leak Is at a Threaded Connection
If the leak appears to come from an inlet or outlet plumbing connection, check the threaded connection.
To correct the connection:
- Shut off the water supply and disconnect power.
- Remove or loosen the affected connection.
- Re-seal the threads with plumber’s tape.
- Re-tighten the connection securely.
- Slowly restore water flow and check for leaks.
If the leak continues, stop using the system and contact Customer Support.
When to Contact Support
If the leak continues after verifying proper sleeve placement and seal condition, further assistance may be required.
Contact Customer Support team for guidance before operating the system again.
