The Fortitude Compact is designed for simple, tool-free maintenance. Filter replacement requires only a quarter-turn and can be completed in minutes.
Replacing the filter on schedule helps maintain steady water flow and proper system performance.
When to Replace the Fortitude Compact Filter
Replacement of Fortitude Compact filter depends on water usage and water conditions, but under typical residential use, replace your filter:
- Every 12 months or after treating 1000,000 gallons of water, whichever comes first.
High-usage households may reach the gallon limit sooner. If you notice reduced flow, changes in taste, or odor, replacement may be needed earlier.
Replacement Filter SKUs
It is important to order the correct replacement cartridge for your model. The CK and CKS systems use different filters.

How to Replace the Filter
The Fortitude Compact features a quick twist-and-lock cartridge design. No additional tools are required for replacement.
Follow these steps:
- Turn off the cold-water supply.
- Open the faucet on the cold-water side to release remaining water pressure.
- Rotate the filter to the right a quarter turn, or until it stops, to unlock it from the system head.
- Remove the old filter.
- Remove the protective cap from the new replacement filter.
- Insert the new filter into the system head.
- Rotate the filter to the left a quarter turn, or until it stops, to lock it into place.
- Turn the cold-water supply back on.
- Check the system and connections for leaks.
- Turn on the faucet on the cold-water side and flush the filter for 5 minutes before use.
Once the filter is locked in place, the water supply is restored, and the system has been flushed, the Fortitude Compact is ready for normal use.
After Replacement
After replacing the filter, monitor the system during the first use to confirm normal water flow and check for any leaks around the cartridge, system head, hose connections, or fittings.
If you notice leaking, reduced flow, or water that does not clear after the 5-minute flush, turn off the cold-water supply and contact Aquasure Customer Support for assistance.
