The Aquasure Dash Series is a plug-and-play countertop drinking water system designed to connect directly to a standard faucet using the included diverter valve and adapter kit. It provides multi-stage filtration without requiring permanent plumbing modifications.
All Dash models are designed for simple setup, countertop use, and routine filter replacement.
Where the Dash Series System Is Installed
The Dash Series sits on the countertop next to the sink and connects to a compatible faucet using the included diverter valve.
The system can be used with:
- Most standard kitchen faucets
- Compatible bathroom faucets
- Compatible RV faucets
Because the system connects through a diverter valve, water can be directed through the filter when filtered water is needed, then returned to normal faucet flow when the filter is not in use.
The included adapters are designed to fit most standard faucets. For a secure seal, you may need to use the gasket from your faucet’s aerator along with the washers included with the adapter kit. If the included adapters do not fit, consult a local plumbing or hardware supplier for a thread adapter that fits your faucet.
Before Setup: Operating Requirements
Before installing the Dash Series, confirm the feed water supply is within the required operating limits.
The system is designed for the following conditions:
- Water temperature: 33°F–105°F
- Water pressure: 20–80 PSI
- Turbidity: less than 5 NTU
- pH: 4–11
- Hardness: less than 7 grains per gallon, or less than 120 ppm
- Sulfide, iron, and manganese: less than 0.01 ppm
- Chlorine: less than 2 ppm
- Total dissolved solids: less than 1,000 ppm
Do not allow the system to freeze. The filter contains water and may be damaged if frozen. Do not connect the system to hot water.
Setup and First Use
The Dash Series is designed for a quick, plug-and-play setup with no permanent plumbing modifications required.
Before setup, place the unit on a stable, level surface near a compatible faucet connection. This helps maintain proper flow and reduces unnecessary strain on the unit and connections.
To get started:
- Remove the aerator from the faucet where the system will be installed.
- Determine whether the faucet has internal or external threads.
- Attach the correct adapter and washer, if needed.
- Screw the diverter valve onto the faucet and tighten the swivel collar by hand.
- Place the Dash unit on the countertop next to the sink.
- Turn on the water and rotate the diverter lever to direct water through the filter.
- Connect the filter replacement indicator circuit plug to activate the filter timer.
After the filter replacement indicator circuit plug is connected, the LED should blink a few times to indicate the timer has been activated.
System Startup
After the Dash Series is connected, complete the startup flush before using the filtered water.
Follow these steps:
- Turn on the faucet and rotate the diverter lever to send water through the filter.
- Run water through the system for 3–5 minutes to activate the filter cartridge and flush the system.
- Watch for carbon fines, which may appear as very fine black particles during the first flush. This is normal and should clear during the startup flush.
- Check the full system for leaks after flushing.
- If you notice a leak, turn off the faucet and correct the connection before using the system.
- Before using the water for drinking or cooking, run the tap for at least 20 seconds.
During initial use, the water may appear cloudy due to trapped air in the cartridge. This is not harmful and should clear if the water sits for several minutes.
Model Comparison
The Dash Series includes three models with different filtration configurations. Each model is designed for specific filtration needs.
AS-D100MCB: Microban Carbon Block (2 Stage)
This model uses two stages of filtration:
- Stage 1: Radial flow outer layer to trap dirt, rust, and sediment
- Stage 2: 0.5 micron Microban carbon block to reduce VOCs and certain heavy metals such as lead, pesticides, herbicides, and chlorination by-products
This model focuses primarily on sediment and chemical reduction.
AS-D100CER: Ceramic + Carbon (2 Stage)
This model also uses two stages of filtration:
- Stage 1: Radial flow filter with sub-micron ceramic outer layer to reduce sediment and microbial cysts
- Stage 2: 0.5 micron carbon block to reduce VOCs and certain heavy metals
The ceramic outer layer provides additional particulate and cyst reduction.
AS-D200UF: Advanced Ultra Filtration (4 Stage)
This model uses four stages of filtration:
- Stage 1: Sediment pre-filter
- Stage 2: Radial flow filtration
- Stage 3: 0.5 micron carbon block
- Stage 4: 0.01 micron ultrafiltration hollow fiber membrane
The ultrafiltration membrane is designed to reduce bacteria, viruses, cysts, and suspended particles while allowing dissolved minerals to pass through.
Filter Lifespan & LED Indicator
All Dash models are rated for:
- 800 gallons (approximately 1 year)
Each unit includes a built-in LED indicator:
- Yellow light indicates less than 10% filter life remaining
- Red light indicates filter replacement is required
The LED indicator is activated during setup by connecting the filter replacement indicator circuit plug.
