Over time, certain components of your Harmony Water Softener require refilling or replacement to maintain consistent soft water performance. The timelines below outline typical replacement intervals.
Salt (Brine Tank)
For most households, salt typically lasts about 2–3 months, depending on water usage and hardness levels. Check the brine tank monthly and refill when the salt level drops to about 2–3 inches above the bottom to support proper regeneration.
Resin
Harmony systems come prefilled with resin and are ready for installation. Over time, resin can lose efficiency due to mineral buildup and normal wear. If softener performance declines after troubleshooting and routine maintenance, replacing the resin may restore proper function.
Resin Tank
With proper maintenance and periodic resin cleaning, resin typically lasts 8–10 years. In some cases, replacing the entire resin tank may be recommended if the system shows reduced performance after many years of use.
Pre-filter (If Installed)
If your Harmony system includes a pre-filter, it should generally be replaced every 4–6 months. Replacement timing may vary depending on sediment levels and overall water conditions.
