If your Harmony Water Softener is not producing soft water, the issue could be related to system settings, flow detection, or regeneration. The steps below will help you identify the cause.
Common Signs of Hard Water
- Scale buildup returning on faucets, shower doors, or appliances
- Soap not lathering well or leaving residue
- A water test showing high hardness levels
- Salt level in the brine tank not decreasing over time
- Brine tank water level appearing unusually high, low, or inconsistent
- The system not appearing to cycle or regenerate
If you’re experiencing one or more of these issues, follow the steps below to troubleshoot your system.
Why Is My Harmony Water Softener Not Producing Soft Water?
If your water feels hard, tests hard, or your system doesn’t seem to be working properly, follow the steps below to identify the issue.
Step 1: Check the Bypass Valve
Make sure the system is in the Service position.
Both the inlet and outlet valves should be open. If the system is in bypass mode, switch it back to Service mode and perform a manual regeneration cycle.
If the system is already in Service mode, continue to Step 2.
Step 2: Check if Gallons Are Counting Down
Your Harmony system tracks water usage in gallons. If gallons are not decreasing, the system may not be registering water flow.
- Look at the display screen and note the current gallon reading.
- Open a faucet and allow at least 5 gallons of water to run.
- Return to the display and check if the gallon count has decreased
If the gallon count decreases but your water remains hard, contact Aquasure Support for further assistance.
If gallons are not counting down, proceed to Step 3.
Step 3: Check the Meter Cable Connection
If gallons are not decreasing, the meter cable may not be fully connected.
- Locate the meter cable connection on the control valve.
- Ensure the cable is completely snapped into place.
- Run water again and confirm whether the gallons begin counting down.
If gallons begin counting after securing the cable, the issue is resolved.
If gallons still do not count down, contact Aquasure Support for further assistance.
