If you notice water leaking from the brine or drain line connection near the control head, it may indicate a small gap in the quick-connect seal. This can prevent the system from properly drawing or discharging water during regeneration.
Follow the steps below to reseat the line and restore a proper seal.
Step 1: Disconnect the Line
To inspect the connection, the hose must first be removed from the quick-connect fitting.
- Remove the blue or orange locking clip, if present.
- With one hand, press the outer ring of the quick-connect fitting inward toward the connection.
- With your other hand, pull the hose free from the fitting.
Removing the hose allows you to inspect and correct the connection point.
Step 2: Inspect and Prepare the Hose
Before reinserting the hose, confirm that the end is properly prepared to create a secure seal.
- Check that the end of the hose is cut at a straight, flat angle.
- If needed, trim the hose to create a clean, even edge.
- Lightly lubricate the end of the hose with a food-grade oil.
A straight cut and light lubrication help ensure a proper seal when reinserting the line.
Step 3: Reinsert the Hose
After preparing the hose, it can be reconnected to the control valve.
- Push the hose firmly back into the quick-connect fitting.
- Insert the hose fully into the fitting, approximately 1/2 inch, until it is secure.
- Reinstall the locking clip if applicable.
Once reconnected, confirm that the hose is seated securely before restoring normal operation.
After completing these steps, allow the system to run and monitor the connection area. Retest regeneration within two days to confirm the leak has been resolved.
